Meet your hosts

  • Randall and Kristin Olson have hosted tours to the Balkan countries since 2019 and are introducing a new tour to Greece in 2026.  This tour will include visits to archeological sites in Athens and beyond, and include many experiences in the Peloponnese region, known as Greece's breadbasket. The region's diverse ecosystem produces some of Greece's best cheeses, olive oils, citrus fruits, honey varietals and wine. You will travel to undiscovered destinations and delight in these experiences and more.

Testimonials

  • "In 2023, I traveled to Croatia with this group. It was an incredible trip to a beautiful country. The accommodations were outstanding as were the sightseeing venues. I was impressed with the quality of the wine, truffle, oyster, and olive oil tasting experiences. Nothing was "touristy" and everything was genuine. The balance between scheduled sightseeing as well as opportunities to explore on our own were perfect. I genuinely enjoyed every minute and recommend this tour."

  • "I was fortunate to be a part of a group trip through Croatia, and the trip was fantastic. I attribute the trip’s success to Randy Olson, who organized the itinerary and bookings. We saw places that were typical tourist spots, and we saw places that are off the beaten path. I would definitely be interested in participating in an excursion of Randy’s planning. I know I won’t be disappointed."

  • "This tour far exceeded my wildest expectations. I had such a wonderful time. Without the collective guidance of the tour planners I would have never found such hidden gems. The experiences were off the beaten path. Most were not on the standard tourist trail, as one could see by the specialized welcomes and the lack of other tourist groups. I genuinely enjoyed every outing on the tour."

  • "As a single traveler, I very much appreciated that all the accommodations, transportation, and activities were taken care of by the experts at Strategem Travel together with their Croatian contacts. All I needed to do was enjoy myself! There was a nice balance between free time and scheduled activities. The planned events were well thought out and immersed me in Croatian culture, food, and wine."

  • "Our first trip to Croatia, and happy to have Randall & team plan it! Amazing unspoiled scenery and coastlines. The winery tours were unique because Randall knows the owners, so in most cases it was a very personalized experience. We gained a few pounds with the fabulous food, but worth every belt loop!"
